Stand & Deliver advances...
Just four days before it’s publication, Pan MacMillan have released the embargo on the forthcoming Adam Ant Autobiography. Ant Lib can exclusively reveal that Adam takes on a mature socio-analytical stance for Stand & Deliver, deeply deconstructing his childhood, extended family and British social climates of the 1960s and 70s and uses this as a crux for his behaviours later in the book. Give yourself seven-and-a-half hours to read it and you will be amazed how little you really knew about someone you’ve followed religiously throughout their career.

What you’ll get from Stand & Deliver: In depth memories and tales from Adam’s childhood, including his behavioral issues, inspirations, first crushes and even his spell in an orphanage.

What you won’t get from Stand & Deliver: Battenburg cakes, drunken nights out with Kenny Banshee, or Black Pirates.

A full review will appear in the Autumn/Winter edition of No Response. To order your copy of Stand & Deliver half price at Amazon. [11 September 2006]

“Antmania Rampant”
That’s how Essential Works (Adam’s literary agents) describe the month ahead in regards to press and PR activity for Stand & Deliver. Even Sony/BMG has got in on the act by producing a Flash microsite dedicated to the new compilation, released on Monday. For latest news on Adam’s forthcoming PR schedule, visit the Essential Works news page HERE. For the 2nd and final instalment of the Mail On Sunday serialisation, go to Ant Spotting now! Pure Genius
The man often dubbed as the “6th Ant” for his wonderful Ant artwork, promo videos and constant support throughout Adam’s career has granted the Ant Liberation Front an exclusive interview. Daniel Kleinman has found success since the Ants days as one of the world’s most successful TV ad directors (winning an armful of awards this year for the his Guinness advert), as well as directing the opening sequences for the recent James Bond movies (including Casino Royale, released in November). As always, interview questions from members are very welcome, so please submit them to stan@adamandtheants.org. [7 September 2006]

Ant Lib Street Team
Is Adam coming to YOUR town? The Ant Liberation Front needs YOU to distribute flyers and sign up new members at your local signing! Freebies will be offered in return for your hard work – as well as the satisfaction of welcoming more Antpeople into the clan! Email team@adamandtheants.org to join the gang, stating which signings you are attending. [30 August 2006]

Digital Disgrace
Additional to announcing these dates, Adam’s management have confirmed that the long-awaited DVD compilation Digital Tenderness will NOT now be released. “This is because of problems with clearances for some of the tracks that were due to appear on it”, says Mal Peachey, Adam’s agent. He adds, “There should however be a DVD compilation of Adam’s videos appearing later this year”. However, knowing that Sony BMG are releasing a ‘bonus’ DVD with the forthcoming Stand & Deliver – The Very Best of Adam & the Ants compilation and apathy towards any serious DVD project, this, we digress, seems unlikely. We are only sorry to have got your hopes up in the current No Response (again). [30 August 2006]

What a Big Mouth You Got Grandma
Marco is on the prowl again with his latest project The Wolfmen – a collaboration between the Big Man and former band mate Chris Constantinou. Receiving airplay from Gary Crowley and Jonathan Ross, their Jackie Says EP is out now in “all good record shops”, spawning a number of online interviews. Not bad for two guys who couldn’t even stand to be in the same room together only a few years ago! [29 August 2006]

Happy feet are all she needs!
Regular Ant Lib event-goers will have probably met our Deutscher Girl, who manages our merchandise stall each year. She will be taking part in a seventeen mile overnight walk for Maggie’s Metro Life Hike in London on Friday 15 September (Stand & Deliver Launch Day!) to raise money for cancer sufferers and their families. To donate, visit www.justgiving.com/DiLangham – and don’t forget to congratulate her at the Disco on Saturday 4 November! [29 August 2006]

Autumn / Winter No Response – available now!

Danny, Champion of the Adworld
The so-called ‘6th Ant’ Danny Kleinman may have been overtly modest for the Madness of Prince Charming documentary, but if his latest offering as top dog ad director doesn’t bring him out of ‘obscurity’, nothing will! The potentially award-winning piece from Kleinman Productions (a new venture launched only few months ago) for Guinness is hitting screens this month. View the advertisement in full online HERE. [14 October 2005]

Stand & Deliver!
No, not the #1 UK hit single, but the title for Adam’s much anticipated forthcoming autobiography! Having talked openly about publishing his memoirs for over twenty years, Adam last week signed a publishing deal with Sidgwick & Jackson (a subsidiary of Pan Macmillan) – whom have been responsible for recent best-selling biographies of Michael Jackson, Arnold Schwarzenegger and footballer Robbie Fowler. According to the publishers, Adam is intending on writing the book himself without aid of a ghost writer, and the book is scheduled for publication Autumn 2006. [22 September 2005]

Black Pirates of the World Unite!
The much talked about and equally anticipated release of the Lavender Pill Mob’s Mikes Bikes LP is out now! Featuring Adam’s version of the Wide Boy Awake track Chicken Outlaw (under the name of Black Pirates) recorded in 2003, this is the first commercially available Adam Ant release since 1995’s Gotta Be A Sin. Buy now direct from Le Coq Musique, Sister Ray, London W1 or from the forthcoming Ant Lib Disco (scroll down for further info!) [21 September 2005]

Kevin Mooney Reveals ALL to Ant Lib (again!)
...And the brains behind Black Pirates granted his favourite Antpeoples’ organisation another exclusive interview for No Response earlier this month. Read the truth behind Kevin’s collaboration with Adam, that XFM interview and on how he quit the drugs for the sake of his family – all in the Autumn/Winter edition of our biannual zine. To receive your copy, Join Ant Lib today! [21 September 2005]

And finally...
Antpeople are probably used to waiting for things to happen but the Ant Lib Online website frozen in time for 18 months was probably starting to make Bryan Stanton look efficient! A big apology to loyal Ant Libbers and first time visitors alike (with special ‘thank you’s to those who have been quietly patient and utterly understanding) – I hope the new site has been worth the wait!
The new Ant Lib Online is committed to weekly updates by founder Madam Stan – however special mention goes to Seedy for providing specialist technical assistance while we get used to the new (ad free!!!) server. There are loads more pages / sections on the sidelines so keep tuned for new stuff and revamped old favourites... [21 September 2005]
