ANTHROPOLOGY: A SOCIAL HISTORY OF ADAM & HIS ANTPEOPLE SYNOPSIS From a few friends in a bedroom to the magical days of Antmania in the early 1980s, back to the 'wilderness years' from 1985 onwards, Adam Ant has had a following of fans only few artists achieve but many aspire to earn. Adam's 'Antpeople' have seen their hero through the highs, through the lows and have stayed loyal despite ridicule inflicted by the mainstream. Punks, rockers, indie kids and royalty alike have all been inspired by the sound and imagery of Antmusic. This is their story. Publisher: Ant Liberation Front Publication Date: October 2008 Format: Paperback 148pp OVER TO YOU Anthropology is about you, the Ant fan. This is a unique opportunity to tell your 'story' - whether it be a reflection of your experiences as an Adam Ant follower or a gripping tale of a memorable event that you've bored your 'unbelieving' friends with for decades. We all have our own story to tell and it is Ant Lib's aim in its 10th anniversary year to collate as many thoughts, memories and recollections as we can from the people who have lived through the highs and lows of Ant fandom. Contributions can be submitted in any form: digital file, printed paper, audio tape, or even photographs and art. We know how hard it is to get the productive juices flowing sometimes, which is why we've posed some interview questions to get you started. You do not have to answer them all, as it's the 'authenticity' we are looking for - especially if you have a particularly candid tale to tell. Because any profits from this project will be donated to a charitable cause, there is no payment involved but anyone whose contributions are used will be credited in the book. In the event that we break-even, contributors will have the chance to vote for the benefactor of donations.
