Out of Context - Lorraine Goddard Photo Exhibition

Photographer Lorraine Goddard is passionate about supporting mental health issues, her drive and determination to raise awareness of positive mental health and reduce the stigma surrounding it as well as supporting the charities, stems from having witnessed at first hand the effects of manic depression. Her former husband is musician Adam Ant who has suffered publicly.

“I have photographed over 40 people over the last few years for my project. Depression is one of the last taboo’s since AIDS. Everybody knows somebody that has suffered directly or indirectly and my aim is to help lift the stigma attached to it” Lorraine Goddard

Louise Garczewska of the Getty Images Gallery says “We’re delighted to support Lorraine who has worked so hard on this project. We hope the images in this unique exhibition will help remove the stigma surrounding mental illness and raise much needed funds for Young Minds.”

Each exhibition will act as a platform for mental health charities to host talks, school visits and launches.

As a Patron of Young Minds, a children’s mental health charity, Lorraine will also be raising funds by selling Limited Edition Prints from the collection to help continue Young Mind’s work in schools in association with The Charles Waller Trust. The prints will be available from the launch night and afterwards on-line at lorrainegoddard.co.uk.

The on-going collection and exhibition will tour in the UK before moving on to New York and LA through 2010. Different images will be shown in different cities before coming together to form a beautiful coffee table book for charity.
